Time to wake up America!

And here we go again folks with another edition of Hawkeyes Blog.
I am delighted that I live in American Samoa. We do have our problems from time to time but those problems pale in comparison to what the rest of the world is experiencing right now.
Is it altogether possible that we have shit our nest this time? The world as we know it is broke. There seems to be no feasible answers coming from our present world leaders.

We have the Republicans and the Democrats arguing over how, when, and where to chop the spending spree that is now rampant within the Obama Administration.
I off these sensable suggestions for starters. (Should anyone have more creative suggestions, Please voice them in the comments section of Hawkeyes Blog.)

(1) Park Air Force One, and hide the Keys from the President. He is using this Plane as his personal Taxi!
(2) Park Air Force Two, and Hide the Keys. Ban Oprah, Mrs. Robinson, and Mechelle from any farther abuse of this American Icon!
(3) Cut with the lavish private parties at the White House! This establishment is for stately functions, not to include Communist Leaders, Rock Stars, and foul mouthed Comedians.
(4) Discontinue the E.P.A. Turn this responsibility along with the expense over to the individual States.
(5) Discontinue the O.S.H.A. Turn this responsibility along with its expense over to the individual States.
(6) Consider scaling back the size of the Department of Transportation. Give more authority for this monstrosity to state governments.
(7) Department of Education. One of the most abused and mismanaged departments of the Federal Government. The States could assume this responsibility, and most likely do a better job of checks & balances.
(8) Reduce by 90% the First Lady's Staff. Cut the funding for her "Anti Fat" Program. It does not require 4 Billion Dollars to grow a vegetable garden on the White House Lawn!
(9) Get control over Union Labor. This is running our country in to bankruptcy while the Union Fat Cats get Fatter! "You Go Governor Scott Walker!" Wisconsin will see better days ahead, I predict.
(10) Demand immediate repayment of the loans to the automakers. They are screwing us while continuing with the large salaries, and annual bonuses.
(11) Time to pull our troops out of the Middle East as not only is it costing us a fortune that we can now ill afford, but for every day we linger there, we run the risk of radicals surrounding and harming our service personnel.
(12) Re-instate the draft. This will assist in our plight to lower un-employment.
(13) Re-Build our War Machine. Not only will this put millions of people back to work in the private sector, but it will get us out of the "Sitting Duck" category!
(14) Secure our Borders both North and South! Stop the Drug Cartels in their tracks.

Our economy has been historically based on wars, and conflicts. In recent history, those wars have been fought on other peoples soil, while foreigners have lost their Women & Chillren to the Opposition. Those days are fast becoming extinct while we watch our incumbent President Kisses our enemies!
It is time to put out the fire, and whistle for the dogs, or get with the program and realize that we, as a nation are being led right in to the clutches of Islam by our illustrious, smooth talking, leader!

2011, the year of the Goat Hearders.

Here we are again folks. Sorry I haven't been Blogging lately, but have been on sort of a bummer.

2010 is enough to put even the best of us on a bummer.

If I hear one more time that we are coming out of this recession, I do beleive I might bend over and regurgitate!

For my 2 cents worth of politics, we have a couple of potential Candidates for residents in the tainted House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

John Bolten and Sarah Palin come to mind.
While Todd Palin might express a twinge of jealousy over John, these two would beat any pair that the GOP could get behind and send to the White House as President and Vice President of the United States.

While John Bolten has a running track record as US Ambassador to the United Nations, his vast knowlege of forign policy is unlimited.
A cool head prevails.
One look at the team of Palin/Bolten will cause the little third world countries like Iran, and North Korea to shudder at the mere thought that these two will not tolerate any bull-s*%t!

Our partie needs to come together in one gigantic C.J. and get behind these people and begin the party support now! Not later on when it becomes appearent that it is already too late.

John and Sarah both could challenge Barrack Hussein Obama to a Debate without the use of Obamas Teleprompter. While Mr. Bolten and Mrs. Palin will prevail, it is in my unbiased opinion that Obama would fail miserabally!

Let us all enjoy a safe and prosperous New Year.
As long as we have a job, good health, and a winning partener, the New Year will be hard to beat!

Hang a Right in November 2010

It has been some time now since I have written on this Blog Space.
I have purposely withheld any political comments for fear of senseless retribution from our friends and relatives on the far left.
I have habitually been guilty of taking the Right Turns within the Political Arena, which at times seem to stir the shit amongst "We The People" as we know them.

I am quite proud to be a Right Wing Republican, and am further proud of having voted for "Ronald Regan" for both of his terms as President. In case we have forgotten, we won!

Since then, I have voted in the US Territory of American Samoa. Being a resident of American Samoa, disallows me to vote in US Presidential elections. I vote for the Governor, House of Reps. but not the Senate.

I have a lot of Republican friends who are by far more educated than I, but not necessarily smarter. I am a proud graduate of the US Military "GED" Program which requires mainly experience and a lot of common sense. My experience in the political field being somewhat limited, I often turn to my common sense factor for making political decisions, and decisions in the Poll Booth.

What I am looking at today is the fact that we as both Republicans and Democrats need to sit down at one big conference table and take a good look at where America Is heading. Though this could come as a rude awakening for some on both sides of the fence, we need to actually look one another in the eyes and say this: "It is high time that we Get our Shit together!" This, of course needs to happen after the mid term elections in order to ward off childish remarks from either party.

Though we can agree, or disagree that what we now have in the White House, and in the Halls of Congress is driving us as a Nation deeper in to debt, and deeper in to Socialistic Policies, we need to move on and make each other a big promise that we will get our heads out of our asses come the elections of 2012. We need to stop thinking with our private parts and instead use our good old common sense to do the right thing in the Poll Booths all across the Nation.

America should really seriously entertain the thought of getting rid of the electoral college vote, and take it back to where your votes make a difference!

Of course, we Republicans really need to get a candidate with some Common sense and balls to stand up and take it on the cheek and say to the world that we as Americans are really pissed off, and it is high time that we retake what is rightfully ours! We need a person in the White house that will stand up for what is right for America in the International community, and quit bowing down to Terrorist's and quit apologizing for our Nation that is still Democratic.

I was delighted to learn on Fox News Live that the former Ambassador to the United Nations, "Mr. John Bolton," is actually entertaining thoughts of making a run for the White House in 2012! Here is a smarter man folks, with a lot of common sense, and balls to do what is right for America! Put Sarah Palin, or Condi Rice there as his Vice President, and we have a team that will not only "Kick Ass," but will take names in the process!

'Are we being "Duped?"

Having followed the political news for the past 11 months, I have come to the conclusion that our President is on a wild Junket at the expense of the U.S. Taxpaying public!
One that really stuck in my craw was when he took his old lady to New York on a Dinner Date, and later a Broadway Show.
While the dinner date could be deemed as none of our business, what is our business is the fact that it cost Taxpayers Millions for this little party.
There was the use of Air Force One, the Motorcade which was delivered by Government Aircraft, the security blanket costing millions, and we won't even mention the Cost of the meal. {Chitlins imported all the way from Nawth Carolina?"
Not to mention the little Junket that was insisted upon by the "Fust Lady" Moshell.
The president traveled all the way to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympics to be conducted in Chicago, only to be kicked out in the first round!
The kicker on this one was the fact that Oprah Whinefry traveled in "Air Foce" Two along "wit da fust Wady!"

This guy is a spend thrift from the gitgo. Here is a guy who has had nothing, and overnight has a silver spoon jammed down his throat!
He has made various trips here and there with little to no results. He is a laughing stock of our sworn enemies!
The GOP had best get back on the bandwagon and "Impeach" this person before he gives the entire store away to his Muslim Kindred.

The GOP need to get someone in there to rally the Party back into the political mainstream of our society.
Our finances are in the tank, we are owing to communist countries, our national deficit is to the boiling point, yet we hold State Dinners with the Guest of Honor being some Towel head from India. We are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the entire world including those that used to consider themselves "Friendly Allies" of America the Beautiful!.

Hard Times

As we here in American Samoa dig our way out from under all the debris and personal sorrow left by the September 2009 Earthquake and Tsunami, it brings us back in to the reality of it all: "The World Economy!"
No matter what our esteemed elected leaders both local, and in the Mainland US are telling us we must wake up and smell the roses!
While we are loosing roughly 1/2 million jobs per month, the housing industry is in the tank, and the now government controlled General Motors Corp is posting a profit of over a billion dollars! Don't be fooled by this crap. It is a political ploy to make the administration look good!
We certainly need a house cleaning before the 2012 elections. I personally don't believe our country can last that long.
We are losing local jobs at an alarming rate simply because our Speaker of the House withdrew her 13 Million from the Tuna industry, and immediately sold us down the river with the minimum wage escalation bill!
Now we are all getting a ridiculous Health Care Reform Bill jammed down our throats.
When your employer gets fined for not being able to afford health care for you and your family, where will this leave you as your family's "Breadwinner?" It will leave you in an UN-employment line alongside millions of others just like you. You will wait in these lines only long enough to be told that there is nothing left in the UN-employment account!
You will then opt for welfare only to learn that that account has been previously dried up by "Obamaites!"
Those who actually wish to work will find demeaning jobs at a lower pay rate than they are used to receiving.
We will all have to tighten our belts a whole lot tighter in order to fend off basic starvation.
The Labor Unions were at one time a good thing for the American Worker. This was back in the 1930's when every other employer was out to rape the common working man of his right to work and earn a meager wage in order to support his family. Not so today. Our average small business has equal to, or better than that of the Labor Unions that force their people to make monthly payments in order for them to keep their jobs. This goes on while the Union Bosses live lavish lifestyles, and fraternize with the company officials who in all actuality, are in control of the Labor Unions.
The United States of America cannot compete with offshore automakers, when we are paying our Union Workers $32.00 per hour to push a button that tells a robot to do a spot weld on the assembly line! Our offshore auto workers are getting paid a fraction of the US Union wages, while they have robot that are smarter than ours that do not need a human to press the buttons! They instead pay perhaps $4.50 per hour for some little wimp to re-program the robots during assembly line change overs.
How can we compete? We have sacrificed our Quality in a feeble attempt to remain competitive in the Auto Industry. The United Auto Workers Union have allowed foreign industry to infiltrate our national industries. We in turn sub contract to off shore companies to manufacture our accessories for our automobile industry that continues to fail. These offshore companies are running close to "Sweat Shop" labor to produce what our American Workers used to produce. It is our Fault friends, and it is time to "Take Back America!"
We have a record numbers of Homeless, Vagrant, Ill, Corrupt, and radical people on the streets of America today. Yet we have the "Do Goodies" who run off to Africa, and adopt the spin-off of some "Goat Herder" in order to avoid paying high numbers to the IRS!
What our Government should do is offer these shysters a reduced Income Tax Rate in order to attract them to adopt from the streets of US Cities such as Baltimore, Chicago, Washington D.C. and last but not least: "New York City and Hollywood" where most of these shysters were trained to earn fantastic salaries for doing next to nothing to earn it!

In case no one has noticed, the United States Economy has been based on War since the Americans kicked out the British in 1776.
In order to win wars, our American People pulled together and made it happen by working in the factories that made the war machine keep moving.
We had women in the various industries such as the infamous "Rosie the Riveter" who worked in our Aircraft factories, Ship Yards, and yes, in the Automotive Industry. We turned out Tanks, Aircraft, Liberty Ships, Jeeps, Guns, Ammunition, Bombs, and all at the same time, taking care of the next generation, "Our Children!"

America needs a president with the Balls and Brains to start putting the American Worker back to work!
It does nor require rocket science to understand that we are expending our Military, while we are replacing none of the parts and people that are now keeping the war machine moving.
The immediate solution to this dilemma is to do the following in the following order:
1. Re-instate the Military Draft.
2. Re-Activate the defense factories, at the same time putting millions back to work, from those who manufacture the food, clothing, footwear, toiletries, furniture, barracks buildings, tanks, Humvee's, Jeeps, Airplanes, Rockets, Ammunition, Guns, Boats, Ships, Bombs, Unmanned Drones, and you must have gotten the picture by now.
We do all of this In America, with the American Worker. We dismantle the Labor Unions. We pay our workers a salary that fits the economy of the era. We adjust those salaries to fit the present economical situation, and give Merit increases in salaries to those who deserve it.
We no longer will need to borrow money from Communist Countries such as China to carry our economy straight in to the sewer. We will once again be proud Americans, standing with our Proud Allies who have once again taken the lead from the greatest, and the strongest nation in the world.
We could accomplish most of this by voting in the right person to lead, guide and direct us in 2012. This person will need the ability to place around them the right advisers in order to get it right the fires time around.
We will need a strong Congress, and Senate which we now lack.
We will need someone with "Balls as big as Basketball's," and "Guts to go with the Balls!" "I will personally back "Sarah Palin" in our endeavours!"

Post Tsunami Paradise

Things seem to be getting back to normal following the great 8.03 Maganitude Earthquake which lasted for three minutes, and the killer tsunami that followed.
So far, there have been no public reports of misuse of donated funds, goods, or money.
This in itself is a plus.

We do not need anymore negative publicity after the recent CNN report of squandered funding for the Early Warning Alarm System.
The ex Director of Homeland security has spilled his guts out to the Federal Athorities, and in the opionion of the Blog Author, has most likely cut a deal in order to be placed under the FBI Protective Custody Program. If this is not the case, then it should be as he is as guilty as the next person.
$400,000 plus has once again been granted for a Tourism Developement Study? What happen to the money that has been doled out by the US Federal Government over the past 25 years to be used for this project.
Where are those New Zealand investors who were so keen to develope a Marina in the town area prior to the tsunami?
Where is the aid from The New Zealand companies who have been raping the local economy for years?
What happened to "Buy America Folks?"
Let us hope that the disaster will have its positive effects and uncover some of the greed that is so prevelant here in Paradise.
Purchases of Airplanes, Ground Support Equipment, Yachts, and the building of huge mansions definitely warrant investigation by our F.B.I.

Hawkeye is a character in a weekly column in the Samoa News of American Samoa. The column began with the now defunct Samoa Journal which was produced by the King Family of Pago Pago.
Its author is Doug Harrington, a 24 year resident of the US Territory of American Samoa which sits approx. 14.05 deg. south of the Equator.
Hawkeye is a satirical column with subjects ranging from Aliens from outter space, and or other countries, to unorganized religion. Comments are most welcome on Hawkeyes Blog, and there are no limits to the subject matter discussed. Hawkeye loves to talk about anything from happenings on Tutuila Island, the Capital of American Samoa, to world issues up to and including the ratings of our present political Administration, more commonly known as the "Obama Administration."
